Ener-G-Africa's vision for gender empowerment and sustainable energy attracts global leaders

Solar Energy

Ener-G-Africa (EGA) hosted distinguished dignitaries from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at its women-led Solar Panel assembly plant in Ndabeni, Cape Town.

Among the esteemed attendees was Paloma Adams-Allen, USAID's Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Administrator for Management and Resources, who explored the profound impacts of EGA's work on the African continent.

This visit provided insights into EGA’s mission and its pivotal role in advancing localised solutions, gender empowerment, and sustainable energy in Africa. As a pioneering force in sustainable energy, EGA is deeply committed to enhancing women across the continent. Their 15 MW per annum solar panel assembly plant in Cape Town serves as a beacon of empowerment, equipping women with invaluable skills to thrive in the renewable energy sector. This $1.5 million, 800m2 plant manufactures solar panels catering to both local, and regional African markets and overseas exports.
